What Is an Automatic Barrier?
An automatic barrier (parking barrier) closes the lane with an arm and only lets authorised vehicles through. Arms are available in 3, 4, 5, 6 m and intermediate lengths.
Equipped with a smart arm, safety photocell and loop detectors, the barrier will not move the arm while a vehicle is underneath, even if the close button is pressed. How Does a Automatic Barrier Work?
A motor and spring system raise and lower the arm smoothly. Loop detector and photocell detect vehicles under the arm; the control unit manages timing and safety.
The vehicle approaches and an opening command is given by remote, card or toll tag.
The motor raises the arm within 1–6 seconds.
The loop detector and photocell monitor the area under the arm.
The arm lowers automatically once the vehicle has passed.
