What Is an Industrial Sectional Door?
An industrial sectional door is a steel-panel door that slides up towards the ceiling, designed for factories, warehouses, car parks and goods or vehicle entrances. Opening upwards keeps the interior usable and the full clear opening available.
The 615 or 495 mm high panels are produced by injecting high-pressure polyurethane between galvanised steel sheets and are connected with steel, aluminium or stainless steel hinges. Combined with a dock leveller and dock shelter, it enables safe and efficient loading.

Industrial Sectional Door Advantages
Safety, insulation and durability for intensively used facilities:
Comprehensive Safety
Cable-break and spring-break devices prevent the door from falling; finger-trap protection on panels and tracks.
High Thermal Insulation
42 mm panels with 0.78 W/m²K reduce energy loss.
Wind Resistance
Steel reinforcement in panels and omega wind braces on wide doors.
High Sealing
EPDM gaskets between panels and on all four sides block dust, air and water.
Opto-Laser Safety Edge
The bottom-edge opto system reverses the door on contact.
Wicket Door & Windows
Integrated or side wicket door; double-glazed acrylic windows in any row.

How Does a Industrial Sectional Door Work?
42 mm PU panels are moved by a side-mounted direct shaft operator or chain hoist. A double spring set balances the door; cable-break and spring-break safety devices are always active.
The operator gives a command by button or remote control.
The industrial motor on the shaft turns the drums and winds the steel cables.
Panels travel in 2″ galvanised tracks and park according to the track type (standard, high, vertical).
When closing, the opto-laser edge reverses the door on contact; the motor will not run if the wicket door is open.
How to Choose the Right Industrial Sectional Door
- Plan the door together with dock levellers and shelters at loading bays.
- Choose the correct track type for your ceiling height.
- Request omega wind braces on wide doors exposed to wind.
- Specify an integrated or side wicket door for staff.
- Use high-cycle springs for intensive use.
Maintenance & Service Tips
- Have spring sets and cables inspected regularly.
- Keep tracks, hinges and rollers clean and lubricate where required.
- Replace EPDM gaskets that are torn or hardened.
- Have the opto-laser and limit settings tested during service visits.

Industrial Sectional Door – Frequently Asked Questions
How thick are industrial sectional door panels?
42 mm. Two steel, aluminium or stainless sheets are filled with 40 kg/m³ polyurethane foam; thermal transmittance is 0.78 W/m²K.
What is the wind resistance?
Our panels resist winds of 80 km/h. On doors wider than 6000 mm, a 65 mm omega wind brace increases resistance.
Will the door fall if a cable or spring breaks?
No. Cable-break and spring-break safety devices prevent the door from falling.
How is it opened during a power cut?
By releasing the motor shaft or with a chain hoist. For user safety, manual operation has priority even if power returns.
Can a wicket door be added?
Yes. In wide doors in a fixed side panel, otherwise in the moving panels. The motor will not run while the wicket door is open.
Can it be installed with low headroom?
Yes. Standard, low, high or vertical-lift track options are available according to the available headroom.
How is the door protected from forklift impact?
Impact barriers, track guards and post protectors can be fitted. For high-traffic internal openings, an additional high-speed PVC door is recommended.
Do you export industrial doors?
Yes. ALD exports new industrial sectional doors from Istanbul to international projects.
